How to decorate an apartment in loft style?
Back to guideThe name loft style comes from interiors decorated in post-industrial buildings, which used to be spots in halls and factories. Nowadays it is one of the most fashionable design trends, not only in lofts. It is an excellent choice for elegant and modern furnishing of a house, apartment or even an apartment. Loft style, also called industrial, is characterized by minimalism and raw form. The interiors give the impression of being unfinished – you can see pipes, plumbing or hanging beams. In this style, exposed brick or concrete on the floor or walls is desirable. The specific climate is also given by space, a lot of space – a loft-style apartment must be bright and spacious, hence in this type of interior there are few partition walls, the rooms are open, possibly separated by glazing. Most post-factory buildings are characterized by high ceilings and large windows (arranging them, you have to forget about franks or curtains) – for this reason, achieving a similar effect in the interiors of classic buildings is more challenging.
Furniture for loft style interior
In loft interiors, metal and wood are the basic building blocks. Furniture is supposed to be raw, coarse, functional and simple. They often refer to design classics. In these interiors original furniture scrounged at flea markets and old things, including from the People’s Republic of Poland, look good. Watching the spaces decorated in this style in the eyes striking tables, tables of raw wood and metal or glass combined with natural materials. It is important that there are not a lot of them – the interior can not be overloaded.
Accessories in loft interiors
Loft interiors are well complemented by industrial-style lamps – a spotlight on metal or wooden stands, or factory or garage lights. This is an excellent way to deepen the loft character of the room. Lamps can also be metal, without shades – bulbs alone, with hanging cables will look perfect and industrial enough. Metal baskets, baskets, acting, for example, as a table and storage, also fit into this style. The impression of a large space is enhanced by placing large mirrors, or hanging them on the walls. In loft spaces, mirrors play a big role, enlarging them optically and reflecting light, making the space seem larger.
Loft style door colors
Colors that go well with such a style are all shades of white, gray, black. It is supposed to be austere, coarse. If you want to add a more vivid color then do it in the accessories – in a different color can be, for example, cushions placed on the sofa. Equally important elements of interior design are the exterior and interior doors. They can be large, wooden or raw, metal solid or with glazing. In such interiors, steel doors in shades of gray, available in the StalProdukt Zamosc catalog, will work best.
