Overhead or sectional door_
Back to guideWhen choosing a gate for the garage, many people consider buying a sectional gate or a swing gate. In the StalProdukt Zamosc catalog you will find only sectional gates. For good reason. Today’s customer needs are met primarily by sectional gates. Tilt gates are often found in older buildings and in practice perform much worse than sectional panels. Why?
Tilt gates – are they still worth buying?
Tilt gates are opened internally or externally by means of wings. Depending on the choice of the user in question, the gate can open with one leaf or two. The swing opening of a garage door generates the need to arrange the garage so that opening it is convenient. For this reason, swing garage doors are not geared to save space. Another disadvantage of swing garage doors is frequent leakage. Of course, this depends on the manufacturer of the gate in question, but usually with frequent use the gate lets air through. This is a complication especially during the heating season, when warm air should be kept inside the house. The right temperature in the garage is also key to keeping your car in good shape. There are a number of solutions to prevent this type of problem – reinforcing the seals in the door, shutting off the garage from heating and the like. However, it is much easier to choose the right door, which solves the problem of lack of space and provides the garage with adequate thermal insulation.
Sectional gates – are they a good choice?
Sectional doors are a much better choice than overhead garage doors. They are constructed of a panel that rolls up against the ceiling with guides and a roller. Vertical garage opening promotes space saving, especially if the garage space is small. The gate does not take up any space – it is like a wall that rolls up at the ceiling. For this reason, sectional garage doors do not interfere with the space and allow you to develop it at will.
Thermally insulated garage doors, otherwise known as sectional doors
Another issue that distinguishes sectional doors is airtightness. Proper selection of materials and fitting the garage door to size ensures maximum airtightness and maintains the right temperature inside. This is combined with minimizing heating bills, as well as car safety. Materials with a favorable heat transfer coefficient are in line with the assumptions of an energy-efficient house. At StalProdukt, we create sectional doors from polyurethane foam with metal cladding. As a result, the thermal parameter is less than 1. The gate equipment and additional security features prevent break-ins and are safe to use even for the youngest users. The full range of sectional garage doors can be found in the current StalProdukt Zamosc catalog.
