The beginning of the year triggers in many of us the need for change. We plan major renovations, including replacing exterior and interior doors, windows and refreshing walls. Equally impressive are smaller renovations, i.e. small changes in decoration and furniture. We suggest refreshing the appearance of the walls by hanging posters – it is wall illustrations that can give any interior a cozy feel. When choosing posters, it’s worth knowing that, if properly selected, they can complement the interior design or be its strongest, dominant point – depending on whether you use subtle patterns and delicate frames, or rather expressive motifs and decorative framing.

Posters in interiors can depict our favorite graphics. Posters can be hung in any interior, even in the bathroom. They can be single illustrations or full wall galleries (in this case it’s a minimum of three images). Posters can be hung in a thoughtful way, forming a uniform geometric shape, or in an asymmetrical way. The frames themselves can be identical or different. The latter combination brings movement to the wall and further enlivens it. Each interior has its own characteristics, which makes a different one look good in them.

What posters are the best for small interiors?

In small interiors, spatial posters that optically enlarge the room work well. These are those that depict open spaces with a distant horizon line – beaches, fields, roads, bridges. On the other hand, minimalist spaces go well with colorful abstractions that will give us energy in the gray everyday life.

And what kind of posters to choose because of the subject matter? They can be abstract posters for modern interiors or painterly movie posters. In interiors, posters of illustrators are equally beautiful. A great idea is to hang a poster with a photo of an established photographer or reach for the iconic posters of the Polish school of illustration. All the time fashionable are plant motifs, which nicely fit into Scandinavian interiors. On the other hand, for a child’s room it is worth choosing posters with favorite characters or scenes from movie cartoons or books. In the kitchen and dining room look good posters with a motif of coffee, food, sentences (typographic posters) are also popular here – after all, the dining room is the heart of the house, so you can hang an important motto or thought for the family.
