Method 1: Self-adhesive hooks

One of the easiest methods of installing hooks is to use self-adhesive hooks. At the same time, this is the least invasive method for the door leaf – we do not need to drill into the door and disturb its structure. When installing hooks on exterior or interior doors, it is enough to peel off the protective film and stick the hooks to the door. Upon removal, the glue remaining on the surface of the leaf is easily washable.

Unfortunately, the strength of self-adhesive hooks is less than that of the ones that go back into the door leaf. To avoid tearing off the hooks, you should hang only lightweight objects. The adhesive in the hooks can be supported by mounting tape – this, by design, can hold up to 120 kilograms.

Method 2: Mounting with screws

The most effective method of installing hooks is the use of screws. It is not recommended for new doors – drilling screws into the door leaf is irreversible and destructive to the surface of the leaf. However, if the decision to screw in hooks is fully considered, all that is needed is the right tools and a drill. First drill holes in the door and door frame, and then screw in the hooks using screws.

Method 3: Installing hooks with construction adhesive

An alternative form of installation without drilling in exterior or interior doors is to install hooks with construction adhesive. In this case, you simply apply glue to the hooks and stick them to the door. The glue needs to dry, so it is advisable to wait a few hours before hanging the selected items on the door.
